The Australian Present for Denmark's New Royal Couple

The Australian Government is making a $10,000 national contribution to Wildcare Tasmania, a registered charity, in honor of the succession to the Danish throne by King Frederik the 10th and Queen Mary. This funding aims to aid the conservation efforts for the endangered Tasmanian devil, supporting research and trials to combat a facial tumour disease that has greatly impacted the species. The donation reflects a growing tradition of Australia commemorating significant royal events by contributing to the preservation of its native fauna.

Queen Mary's connection to Tasmania adds a personal touch to this initiative, linking back to her upbringing in the region.
