Taiwan and USTBC Delegation Advance Economic Ties and Double Taxation Resolution
Taipei City, (Amaravati Today): President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan welcomed a delegation from the US-Taiwan Business Council (USTBC) and expressed her gratitude for the recent approval of the US-Taiwan Expedited Double-Tax Relief Act by the US House Committee on Ways and Means. President Tsai emphasized the importance of resolving the issue of double taxation between Taiwan and the United States to encourage bilateral investment and create new business opportunities. She also highlighted Taiwan's commitment to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and its willingness to contribute to regional and global economic and trade development.
Chairman Keith Krach of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy and President Rupert Hammond-Chambers of USTBC were commended for their efforts to strengthen Taiwan-US cooperation. President Tsai noted Taiwan's resilience in the face of the pandemic and geopolitical challenges, reaffirming its position as the United States' eighth-largest trading partner.
Chairman Krach expressed his pleasure in returning to Taiwan, emphasizing the importance of economic ties between the US and Taiwan. He congratulated President-elect Lai Ching-te and Vice President-elect Bi-khim Hsiao on their election, foreseeing continued growth in US-Taiwan relations. Chairman Krach praised President Tsai's visionary leadership and discussed initiatives such as the Taiwan Center for Innovation and Prosperity (TCIP) and the Global Trusted Tech Network, emphasizing the significance of trust in bilateral relations.
