Surinamese officials who participated in training and inspection programs in China last year highlighted the potential benefits of Chinese knowledge and technology.
For instance, Pascual Zeegelaar, Chief Medical Official of the Surinamese Ministry of Defense, noted the value of China's expertise in eliminating malaria, which can be applied in Suriname.
Anand Ramkisoensing, Permanent Secretary of the Surinamese Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries, emphasized the opportunities for agricultural development and food security through collaboration with China.
Chinese Ambassador to Suriname Han Jing expressed China's readiness to provide more study opportunities and promote personnel exchanges to strengthen cooperation between the two nations. In 2023, over 300 Surinamese officials, experts, and scholars participated in training programs in China, covering various key sectors.
