Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov Welcomes Gambian Counterpart for Bilateral Talks in Moscow
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warmly welcomed Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia, Mamadou Tangara, to Moscow. Lavrov emphasized the traditionally friendly relations between their countries, built upon principles of equality, mutual benefit, and respect.
He noted the positive developments in their bilateral political dialogue, highlighting the participation of President Adama Barrow at the Russia-Africa Summit in 2019 and Minister Tangara's representation at the second summit in 2023. Lavrov also underscored the growing interactions between their foreign ministries and parliamentary contacts.
Lavrov stressed the importance of expanding trade and economic ties between the two nations, along with cooperation in humanitarian affairs and education.
