March 31, 2024 PM Modi addresses a public meeting in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bharatiya Janata Party's election campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. Highlighting a special connection with Meerut, where he has previously launched campaigns, Modi emphasized the upcoming elections as a pivotal moment for India's development into a 'Viksit Bharat' or Developed India.

Modi projected the 2024 elections as a critical juncture that would propel India to become the world's third-largest economy, asserting that this elevation from the 11th to the 3rd position globally would eradicate poverty from India. The Prime Minister underscored the national ambition of surpassing 400 seats in the elections, reinforcing his vision with the slogan "4 June, 400 Paar."

The Prime Minister outlined the government's preparation for its next term, focusing on a roadmap for the initial 100 days and beyond to accelerate development. He recalled the significant achievements of the past decade, including the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, which he likened to a dream come true.

Modi also highlighted the government's strides in women's empowerment, notably increasing women's participation in the military and other professions and transforming millions into entrepreneurs. The introduction of the Namo Drone Didi Scheme was mentioned as a game-changer for women in rural areas.

Addressing corruption, Modi criticized the opposition INDI Alliance, asserting his administration's efforts against corruption and his commitment to recovering looted money. He also revisited the historical error by the Congress regarding Katchatheevu island's handover to Sri Lanka, pointing out the ongoing repercussions for Indian fishermen.

Modi criticized the opposition for their stance towards farmers and the military, while lauding his government's initiatives for sugarcane farmers and promoting ethanol production. He underscored the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi's benefits to farmers and highlighted affordable urea availability.

Further, Modi spoke on the PM Surya Ghar - Muft Bijli Yojana, emphasizing energy efficiency and savings through initiatives like LED bulbs and solar energy, promising widespread implementation in his next term.

In his concluding appeal, Modi urged for a robust turnout on April 19th and April 26th, rallying for a "400 Paar" victory to secure a prosperous, corruption-free, and developed India, focusing on empowerment, farmer prosperity, and stringent action against corruption.
