New Zealand's Navy Chief Visits India to Boost Maritime Cooperation

Rear Admiral David Proctor, Chief of the Royal New Zealand Navy, is on an official visit to India from February 19 to 27, 2024. During his visit, he met with Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, in New Delhi on February 20, where he was accorded a traditional Guard of Honour. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral maritime cooperation through increased operational engagements, training exchanges, and information sharing.


Proctor's itinerary includes participation in the Indian Navy's flagship exercise MILAN 24 in Visakhapatnam and engagements at the Western Naval Command. This visit follows significant advancements in maritime relations between the two navies, including the recent agreement on White Shipping Information Exchange and reciprocal port calls, underscoring a deepening partnership in regional maritime security.
