NATO Allies Showcase Unified Military Strength in Dragon 24 Exercise in Poland

Troops from ten NATO member countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Türkiye, the UK, and the US, participated in a strategic Vistula river crossing in Korzeniewo, Poland, as part of Exercise Dragon 24. Conducted on March 4-5, 2024, this exercise was a component of the larger Steadfast Defender 24, marking NATO's most extensive military drill in recent decades. Polish President Andrzej Duda and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda attended the event, underscoring the exercise's significance.
Dragon 24, led by Poland, serves as an operational and tactical level multinational drill within the framework of Steadfast Defender 24, which involves a total of 90,000 troops from all NATO Allies and Sweden. This exercise is based on NATO’s updated defence plans, highlighting the alliance's capability to swiftly deploy forces across the Atlantic and within the Alliance to bolster Europe's defence.
The event attracted several high-ranking NATO officials, including Major General Cezary Miśniewski, Major General Randolph Staudenraus, Brigadier General Guy Foden, Lieutenant General Piotr A. Błazeusz, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, and Vice Admiral Douglas G. Perry. Their participation during the media and distinguished visitors' days emphasized NATO's unified commitment to deterrence and defence, reflecting the strategic importance of demonstrating military readiness and cooperation among member nations.
