Narendra Modi Inaugurates Boeing's Cutting-edge Campus in Bengaluru

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated Boeing's India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, representing Boeing's largest investment outside the USA. Valued at Rs 1,600 crores, the 43-acre campus aligns with the Prime Minister's 'Atmanirbharta' initiative. Boeing also launched the Sukanya Program, aiming to support girl children entering the country's aviation sector. Boeing's COO, Ms Stephanie Pope, lauded the PM's focus on aviation growth and expressed gratitude for his role in implementing the Sukanya program, envisioning it as a catalyst for women in aerospace.

PM Modi emphasized Bengaluru's role in connecting aspirations to innovations, underscoring the city's position as an emerging aviation hub. He praised the facility's scale, foreseeing it strengthening both India and the global aviation market. The Prime Minister highlighted India's commitment to global tech, innovation, and design, reinforcing the 'Make in India-Make for the World' resolution. He emphasized the government's push for women's participation in aerospace, citing India's leadership with 15% women pilots, three times the global average. The Sukanya program aims to boost women's involvement in aviation and enable aspiring pilots from remote areas.

PM Modi linked the success of Chandrayaan to increased scientific interest among Indian youth, noting India's status as the world's third-largest domestic aviation market. He highlighted the sector's rapid growth, contributing to overall economic development and job creation. The Prime Minister outlined policy measures to support aviation, encouraging state governments to reduce aviation fuel taxes and streamlining aircraft leasing. He urged international companies like Boeing to align their growth with India's ascent, emphasizing the nation's commitment to 'Make in India' as a win-win for investors. PM Modi expressed confidence in a strong partnership between India's aspirations and Boeing's expansion, envisioning the country's role in designing and manufacturing aircraft.
