In a closely contested match, Liverpool emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest. The only goal of the game came in the 90 + 9th minute, as Darwin Núñez of Liverpool scored a crucial header from the center of the box, assisted by Alexis Mac Allister following a corner.

The intense second half saw multiple attempts from both sides, with Liverpool's Kostas Tsimikas having a left-footed shot blocked and Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White seeing a right-footed shot blocked.
