In a significant move to bolster humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) capabilities, India and the United States are conducting a comprehensive bilateral tri-service exercise named Tiger Triumph-24. This strategic initiative is scheduled to take place on the Eastern Seaboard from March 18 to March 31, 2024, underscoring the deep-rooted partnership between the two nations. The exercise will witness the participation of a broad array of military assets from both countries, including Indian Navy ships equipped with helicopters and landing crafts, Indian Navy aircraft, Indian Army personnel and vehicles, Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters, along with the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT). The United States will be represented by its Navy ships, troops from the US Marine Corps, and the US Army.

Tiger Triumph-24 aims to enhance interoperability between the Indian and US forces for executing HADR operations. The exercise will also focus on refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure swift and seamless coordination during disaster response scenarios. The initial phase of the exercise, known as the Harbour Phase, is set from March 18 to March 25, 2024. During this phase, personnel from both navies will engage in a series of training visits, expert exchanges, sports events, and social interactions, aimed at fostering camaraderie and mutual understanding.

Following the Harbour Phase, the exercise will transition to the Sea Phase, where ships with embarked troops will conduct maritime, amphibious, and HADR operations tailored to simulated disaster situations. This collaborative endeavor not only signifies the commitment of India and the US to global disaster resilience but also reinforces their dedication to ensuring a rapid and coordinated response in times of crisis.
