French President Emmanuel Macron to Grace India's 75th Republic Day as Chief Guest

French President Emmanuel Macron will embark on a state visit to India from January 25th to 26th, 2024, serving as the Chief Guest for India's 75th Republic Day celebrations, upon the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This marks France's unprecedented sixth appearance as the chief guest for India's Republic Day festivities, showcasing the strong Indo-French ties. President Macron's visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations, as outlined in the "Horizon 2047 Roadmap" initiated during Prime Minister Modi's visit to France in July 2023.

The visit focuses on three key pillars of cooperation: security and sovereignty, climate change, and fostering people-to-people connections. France and India will deepen their collaboration in defense, space exploration, climate initiatives, and student mobility. President Macron will begin his visit in Jaipur, engaging with cultural projects and students, before joining Prime Minister Modi in Delhi for bilateral talks and attending the Republic Day parade. The visit underscores the enduring friendship and shared ambitions between India and France.
